Ruger GP100 Usage & Features
Are you right handed or left handed?
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
I really wanted a reliable .22 lr to practice, practice, practice. I really dislike like the Semi Autos in this Caliber, due to so many malfunctions. I go to ladies night on Mondays & we use .22 Semi & the frustration of clearing malfunctions get’s to me. I go through at least 100-200 rounds a week & the .22 ammo is so much cheaper than 9 mm that I use on my Semi.
Tell us about shooting this gun:
It is great. The SA is fantastic & smooth. Very accurate & a joy to shoot. No malfunctions, Yeah!
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
Fit is great since it is a larger gun both hands fit nicely on it. The DA is heavy but that is to be expected & really works my trigger finger. The SA is short & fantastic. What recoil? The barrel length & weight of revolver soak it all up.
How reliable is it?
Very, it is a revolver.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
None that I know of.
What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?
So far nothing. I can’t wait to become better with this revolver so that I can participate in some Zombie Shooters Association Matches.
Would you recommend this gun?
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
Work on hand strength & trigger pull since DA is heavy. Ammo is cheap, no malfunctions, easy to clean, easy to shoot. Great to work on ones shooting skills to prepare for CC when the time comes.
