Tell us about shooting this gun.
My Shield EZ has a grip safety, so it is very easy to shoot.
How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?
The recoil is quite manageable.
How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)
I have large hands, and this gun fits well. I can get all my fingers on the grip. The slide is wonderful! The mag release work like a charm, and the trigger is reasonably light.
Do you like the sights on this gun?
Yes. I am getting a Crimson Trace Laserguard for it, which will improve my shooting.
How reliable is it?
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
I get both critical defense and target rounds with fair regularity.
Was it easy to take down and clean?
Very easy to clean!
Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?
Occasionally, I accidentally hit the magazine release when gripping the gun to shoot. I feel that I just need more practice to avoid that.
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
It’s IDEAL for people with less than stellar hand strength. I could not move the slide on a few other guns I tried, including the Shield. I have no trouble with the slide on this gun. It’s a joy to shoot.
Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?
Absolutely! I shoot a Victory 22 for marksmanship, and love it. I would not want to lug it around, though!
