S&W M&P Shield EZ Usage and Features
Are you right or left handed?
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
A very easy racking slide and not much recoil
Tell us about shooting this gun.
This is a lightweight pistol with manual safety in the grip. I have arthritis in my shoulders and elbows. This firearm is easy to rack the slide and has minimal recoil. It’s easy to clean and works great as my every day carry. I conceal carry in a purse and train often so that I am comfortable drawing from the purse holster.
How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?
The recoil is minimal. This firearm is great for someone with not great arm strength, an older person or someone arthritis.
How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)
You do have to get use to the manual safety in the grip. It’s good for someone with a average to small hand. If clean and lubricated per the manual, magazine release is easy and can be done very little interruption while shooting
Do you like the sights on this gun?
Yes, I like the rear adjustable white dot sight.
How reliable is it?
The only time I’ve experienced a jam was after firing over 500 rounds and it was dirty. Once I cleaned it, it was 100%.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
I bought some Remington rounds during the ammo shortage during the pandemic. The ammo didn’t jam but the bullet dropped leaving an unusual oval hole in my target.
Was it easy to take down and clean?
It is extremely easy to take down and clean. Four basic parts to clean and lube.
Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?
This is a lightweight fun gun to shoot.
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
You will have no problem racking the slide. It’s a great lightweight conceal carry gun.
Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?
I would highly recommend this gun. I also own the same model in the 9mm.
