What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

One of the smaller 9mm available at the time, nothing on the outside of the gun to snag on clothing or holsters.

Tell us about shooting this gun:

This is the first gun I ever shot, so I really didn’t know what were good or bad qualities about it. My husband, who has been shooting since he was a kid, said right off the bat, though, that it had a really long trigger pull and a strong recoil.

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

I have long fingers and fairly large hands for a woman, and with the regular magazine I can’t wrap my pinky finger around the grip. I got an extended magazine and that has helped (see pictures) This gun has a very long trigger pull, which I didn’t really notice at first because it was the first gun I had ever shot. But now, after having shot a few others, I really notice the difference. It has quite a bit of recoil, and thus requires a bit of time to realign to the target after each shot. My groupings with this pistol are not as tight as with some others I have shot since.

How reliable is it?

I have fired around 300 rounds through it and I have had several FTE’s, and a few FTF’s with winchester white box ammo during target practice. I keep Federal Premium JHP’s in it for carry.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

It doesn’t seem to like the Winchester white box ammo.

Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:

Beretta recommends 124 grain.

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

The recoil and the long trigger pull. I know that is a safety feature built in because there is not an external safety, but I feel like I lose my target sometimes because it takes so long to actually fire the gun!

Was it easy to take down and clean?

It is easy to break down, clean, and reassemble.

Would you recommend this gun?

No.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

There are better options out there, I think the appeal of this was that it was pretty small but even for being so small it feels chunky to me. I have a hard time carrying it on my body comfortably. More often than not it goes in my purse, which isn’t the best method of carry.
