so let’s talk about putting all the
fundamentals of marksmanship together
and break the shot so in previous videos
we’ve talked about sight alignment sight
picture trigger control and breathing
control and so let’s put all that
together when you’re actually taking a
shot so got my Glock 19 here I’m going
to go ahead and load up make sure I’d
seat that magazine I’m gonna press that
slide release and I now have a loaded
pistol now I’m in an Anasazi stance I’m
gonna go ahead and bring the sights up
my trigger finger is off the trigger
because right now I’m aligning my sights
on target now my sight picture looks
like my front sight is on target and I’m
going to bring my focus to that front
sight now I’m ready to shoot I’m gonna
place my trigger finger on the trigger
I’m going to take a breath I’m gonna
exhale exhale exhale and as I’m exhaling
I’m applying pressure to the trigger at
the trough or when I’m almost out of
breath break the shot now one thing to
notice I’m going to break my left hand
here notice that I’ve trapped the
trigger now a part of shooting and
marksmanship is all about efficiency of
movement so I’m gonna release the
pressure off the trigger until I feel a
click right there so the efficient part
here is I didn’t release and let my
finger fly off the trigger and I only
moved my trigger finger as little as
possible till I felt that reset I’m
gonna get my good grip back on and go
through the whole process again align my
sights my sight picture is on target and
my focus is on my front sight I’m gonna
take a breath here exhale exhales I’m
applying more pressure more pressure
more pressure and there you go broke the
shot and again trap that trigger I’m
gonna go ahead and unload here alright
so as with anything this takes a lot of
practice of putting together all the
fundamentals of marksmanship sight
alignment sight picture trigger control
breathing control these are the
fundamentals that I focused on when I
trained for top shot and what took me
from self-taught amateur to top shot
champion hope you enjoy and as always
firearm safety begins with you
Very informative. I learned this when I took my NRA basic pistol shoring, but it’s been a while. Nice refresher.
