just saw the ad for NRA carry insurance. I never did buy insurance from anyone specifically for ccw. I am considering it since this one also covers the spouse, but it is hard to drop a chunk of change for what I hope to never need. Yet again, that is why I buy health, home owners, and car insurance … Hoping I never need it.
I am curious, do most of you purchase some type of legal protection? If yes, do you get the basic or the top tier plan?

I just started EDC again a month ago, so yes, I am planning to buy good insurance to protect everything else in my life. I’d hate to lose my home, rental properties or businesses if someone identified/attached them in a lawsuit. In my research, I found the policies cover very different things and impose varied coverage limits, for bail, legal representation, etc. Some require you to pay out-of-pocket and get reimbursed, while others pay from the first dollar, which is what I would seek.
I asked my instructors and will buy what they’ve recommended and use for themselves.
Like you said, insurance is a ‘necessary evil’ or expense in every area of our lives. We opt to add additional ‘risk’ of being sued, etc by owning firearms, so I think that needs insured. In the best case scenario, it will prove to be a waste of money for we never have to put in a claim!
