We Went Hunting
I was 18 years old and went deer hunting with my then-boyfriend. I had no idea he had taken acid. Well before the incident happened we stopped and rested so my rifle wasn’t close to me. At that point in time, he was high. He then wanted me to run in the woods like a deer because he wanted to hunt me.
I’m Not Running
I’m not sure why I pulled my next move as I did. I stood in front of him faced him and told him I’m not running! If you want to shoot me then do it. I didn’t do anything but stared at him for what seemed like a long time.
All of a sudden he changed back to himself. I then grabbed my rifle and told him I was done hunting. Able to stay calm or shocked until we got to safety. Needing to get away from him, I just packed my stuff and left. I didn’t even report it I’m not sure why.
20 Years Later
I didn’t touch another gun until I was in my 40’s. I’m now learning slowly just how to handle a gun of any kind again. I truly wish I knew about this stuff on this day of hunting. I’m glad I found the well armed woman. I’m looking forward to learning and growing in any and all safety for myself and my family.
