Well Armed Woman group gives back

Christmas is about giving, and in our little town giving can have a huge impact. Each year a Salvation Army Angel Tree is put up at Gordon’s IGA, ran by Lora Snow and the Kearny Fire Department who do an amazing job. Our great little town does its best to pick all the angels and go shopping for them. We also have a couple of businesses and business owners that contribute hundreds of dollars worth of toys. Kearny’s heart is something to be admired!

As part of The Well Armed Woman’s National Community Outreach Initiative, the Copper Basin Chapter is working hard on giving back to our communities. Picking angels off of the angel tree was something that wasn’t even questioned when it was discussed at the November meeting. They picked three angels off of the tree and had a great time shopping. It’s a fairly small chapter so three was the limit this year. Next year’s aim is bigger! Several chapter members also helped wrap all the angel tree presents, along side Kearny and Hayden fire fighters, some Kearny citizens and the mayor of Hayden.

The Copper Basin Chapter has plans for other ways to give back to the local communities as well, so be watching for them!
