Well Armed Woman’ Group Expands In Spartanburg

WSPA

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -The Well Armed Women group is expanding in the Upstate with a new Spartanburg County chapter.

They meet every third Thursday of each month at the Firing Line to educate and empower women on how to defend themselves.

“Once you have the proper training and you’re educated then you feel secure,” chapter leader Angie Arnold said.

Sheriff Chuck Wright sat in on the group’s first meeting Thursday.

“I hope this sends a message to the criminals that you need to get you a job because we are simply just not going to tolerate that behavior,” Wright said.

Wright has been advocating for women to arm themselves for years.

He said an incident earlier this month is proof that it can save lives. That’s when two women shot back at random attackers who followed them home from the ATM.

“They weren’t going to be victims and they fought back and i’m very proud of them,” Wright said.

There is also a Well Armed Women group in Greenville.
