Home invasions are not something that happen to everyone but they are, unfortunately, a common occurrence. If you ever find yourself in this situation you need to do your best to keep your wits about you. There are things you can do to prevent harm and to protect yourself. One woman learned what it takes to escape a home invasion.
Elderly Woman Escapes Home Invasion
Despite being awoken by two masked men in her home, an elderly woman kept her head about her and escaped to safety. She was being held at knifepoint when she thought of a plan that would give her the seconds she needed to get out of harm’s way. She was able to run to a neighbor’s home to call for help and the police arrived in minutes. Sometimes, using your wits can make all the difference. The woman told the intruders that she was feeling ill and acted as if she was going to run to her bathroom. Instead, she ran across the street to her neighbor’s home by way of the back door, which was near the bathroom. She was able to make it out without getting harmed in any physical way.
