It did take have a learning curve to be accurate. That being said, once you’ve practiced, it’s a dream to shoot! My husband STILL cannot hit the broad side of a barn with this gun….his hands are just too big. I was soooo disappointed after my first range visit with my 9mm Shield because I couldn’t even hit the paper. Now, mind you, I was NOT giving up, and I practiced and practiced and now….I’m very proficient with my Shield and absolutely love it. Coming from a full sized S&W M&P 9mm…this was quite a different animal…much “jerkier” if you will. But again, I practiced and practiced and now….it’s second nature for me! Absolutely love it!!! Best purchase I’ve made yet!!!

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

its my hand great. I’m not a petite lady and it works just fine for me. I do prefer the larger magazine in it for more to grip onto for sure!! The sites are perfect for me, I’m spot on! Racking it is no problem and the trigger pull is fine. Recoil took some getting used to after only shooting my full size M&P, again…practice – practice – practice! Mind you, you do compromise recoil with the small footprint…but that being said, it is easily overcome. Do not let recoil deter you from getting this gun, it is a perfect conceal weapon for me and the ONLY one I carry.

How reliable is it?

It is very reliable. I’ve not been the “best” at cleaning my Shield and still, it shoots true every time.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

I did have two incidents with jamming using reloads at the range. Never with factory ammo though.

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

Took practice to hit the target with accuracy due to recoil initially.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

Yes, very easy. Just as easy or easier than my full size M&P.

Would you recommend this gun?

Yes

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

You will not regret this as your conceal carry weapon. It is small, yet powerful enough to stop the threat.

Anything else you would like to share about the gun?

I love my 9mm Shield…and am so glad I purchased it. I tried carrying my full sized 9MM M&P and it was a disaster due to the size and weight of the weapon. I forget I even have this one one. Love, Love, Love this gun!!!
