Springfield XD Sub Compact Usage & Features
Primary Use:
Concealed Carry
Are you right handed or left handed?
Right
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
This gun serves great on the range, and as conceal carry weapon.
Tell us about shooting this gun:
Slide is easy to manipulate. Very accurate, nice tight groups.
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
Trigger pull is smooth and has a nice reset. Recoil is very minimal. I shoot this gun off handed due to many surgeries on my dominate hand. This gun feels like an extension of my arm.
How reliable is it?
Around 500 rounds through it, not one failure to feed, not one hiccup.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
This gun will eat anything I’ve put through it. Including steel case ammo. Not one malfunction.
Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:
Not that I am aware of, though I do not recommend using reloads unless you are completely confident in the abilities of the reloader.
What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?
Not thrilled with 3 dot sites period on any gun
Was it easy to take down and clean?
Yes. Lock slide to the rear, flip up take down lever, release slide while pulling trigger
Would you recommend this gun?
I could not be happier with this gun. Fantastic at the range. Actually fun to shoot. That is hard to come by with a conceal weapon. This gun goes with me everywhere I go.
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
A good holster is key when carrying this gun on body. It is a little fat kid, but with the right holster it works great. I carry inside the waistband, with a hybrid holster.
