Kimber Micro Carry Usage & Features

Primary Use:

Concealed Carry

Are you right handed or left handed?

Right

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

This is a mini 1911 so the balance and feel of the gun is incredible. It fits perfectly in my hands. It is small enough for easy concealment and i can easily operate every component of the gun.

Tell us about shooting this gun:

This gun is quite accurate. Very minimal recoil, I practice one handed and with my left hand often with no issues. The trigger pull is not too long and not too short. I can easily rack the slide (you must keep it well oiled).

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

This fits perfectly in my hand. I am looking to get the 6 round clip so that will add a bit of length to the handle which should only enhance my grip. The sights are pretty lined up and the slide racks very easily as long as you keep it well-oiled. I have heard all Kimber guns are very thirsty pieces. The recoil is minimal, my hands do not move very much. The trigger pull is not very long and is a very smooth pull.

How reliable is it?

I have only had firing issues when the gun was not properly oiled or had cheap ammo (repacks). Quality ammo and a well oiled barrel have been reliable every single time.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

This gun does not like cheap repacked ammo. Shoots home defense bullets very nicely with just a little difference in recoil.

Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:

Not that I have seen online, but I am sticking to name brand instead of re-packs.

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

Nothing. I love it.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

Yes. It took a little learning to figure out how to get the slide stop pin out by myself while holding the slide back, but after 2 cleaning rounds, i can do it very easily.

Would you recommend this gun?

Yes.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

If you have ever shot a 1911 before and liked the way it operated, this gun is exactly the same. I love everything about it (especially that it now comes in so many colors and options-a 9 mm is also available!) It is very easy to conceal and very fun to shoot. My husband also enjoys practicing with it.

Anything else you would like to share about the gun?

I have not met one person that didn’t like shooting this gun.
