The Well Armed Woman Individual First Aid Kit
This medical kit is built to handle the priorities of trauma first aid: stop the bleeding and start the breathing. Designed to be used for one person and one traumatic situation, it is packed into a high-visibility, waterproof SeaHorse hard case with a high visibility all-weather decal on the outside. Contents include a CAT tourniquet, two emergency bandages, rolled gauze, hemostatic blood-clotting gauze, trauma shears, medical utility tape, set of occlusive seals, emergency blanket and nitrile gloves. Remember that skills are more important than tools, so get high-quality training and practice often! Read “Dirt Medicine – The Basics”
Additional Tourniquets – The best tourniquets in use today around the world are the CAT (Combat Application Tourniquet) and the SOFTT-W (SOF Tactical Tourniquet Wide). While the IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) already comes with a CAT, having 2 tourniquets handy is always a good idea.
Additional CAT Tourniquet available for additional charge
Chem lights available for additional charge – Chem lights are great for hands free light and take up minimal room – plus you don’t have to worry about the batteries going dead! These are green glow sticks with a 4 year shelf life, and they will glow for up to 12 hours. They are a great upgrade for any of the TWAW medical kits, especially the PFAK (Pouch First Aid Kit), which has a built-in strap for a glow stick, or other light source, on the outside.
