Saf-T-Trainer Dummy Rounds

(5 customer reviews)

Inert training cartridges developed for training or instructional activities require use of a dummy cartridge. Manufactured from a durable synthetic material and colored “safety orange” for instant identification, Saf-T-Trainers provide safety by greatly reducing the risk of live ammunition and dummy cartridges from becoming mixed during training exercises. An affordable replacement for traditional metallic dummy cartridges. Saf-T-Trainers will also cushion the firing pin when used as a snap cap.

These are great! I bought them in the 22, 38 and 20 gauge sizes, and have used them all for practice in various firearms. The bright orange color is really helpful. The 22 size does tend to get a bit dented in my Ruger 22 LCR, but that is somewhat expected for a rimfire situation. The 22 is the only size that shows some serious wear after lots of use. The others look like they will last a long time. Our concealed carry instructor recommended getting these to practice with, and I would highly recommend them as well.

Had issues with the 22lr. The rim busted off and the round got stuck in my barrel.
    The 9mm is good

I ordered a pack of these for my Colt Mustang (.380) and they work well. I like how bright they are; it would be immposible to mistake them for real ammo.

I really like the look and feel of these compared to metal snap caps. The bright plastic is unmistakably different from live ammunition. I love all the calibers i’ve tried for dry fire practice. The .380 calibre in a ruger lcp jams most of the time. Other weapons and sizes of the safety round i’m able to cycle through a full magazine of these plastic rounds most of the time.

Ordered and received the Saf-T-Trainer rounds in the same week. I have already been using the shotgun rounds for practice loading and cycling them through. Also have used the .38 and .22 rounds for loading practice. These are hard plastic and blaze orange; impossible to confuse with live rounds. They are also much lighter and have a tendency to jam, which is not necessarily a bad thing since it allows for practice clearing. The only other point of note is the shotgun rounds did chip easily but are still usable. I recommend these for safe practice at home.
