Tell us about shooting this gun:
Hah!!! When given the task of shooting six shots through one hole at 5 yards, the Walther proved it possible! There were a few nerves at the start of this particular training day and this gun just put those nerves in their place! Six shots- all shots in a ragged hole. Excited to say the least; and this was not a one time event
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
The first time I put this gun in my hand, it felt like it belonged! The molded grip allows my hand to wrap in comfort, providing a solid base. The slide is one of the easiest to rack of all the guns I have used. It is ideal for an individual who may have concerns with hand strength, arthritis. But then, it is ideal for just about anyone who loves a finely tuned machine. The recoil is nominal, allowing for the follow through necessary to get back on target quickly.
How reliable is it?
In a recent training over the course of two days, shooting about 700 rounds, I experienced 1 malfunction. Due to a change in my grip, my thumb inadvertently released the magazine. I corrected the grip, becoming aware of the situation, and not another problem. The mag catch release button is on the frame it is NOT part of the trigger guard.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
