Left Handed

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

I love that this gun has a magazine release under the trigger. It can be done left or right-handed which makes it truly ambidextrous. The safety is also ambidextrous, making it easy to release. This gives added peace of mind when carrying to leave it on and yet quickly disengage if necessary. The slide is easy to pull back and the magazine easy to insert and release. Double action hammer gives added comfort to carrying. There is nothing not to like about this gun.

Tell us about shooting this gun.

It’s accurate without trying too hard. A novice or a seasoned pro can shoot this gun with ease and accuracy. The trigger pull is a little heavy compared to its rivals, which is a personal preference. I like the harder trigger but it does mean a little more practice. Once you’ve got it though, you’ll never want to go back. The shell cartridge does like to eject back a ways.

How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?

The recoil is almost non-existing. Once the first round is through, it’ll easily empty the magazine before you know it and you’ll barely have to re-align your sites after each shot.

How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)

This fits so nice in my hand. I am tall, (6 feet) but have relatively small hands. The magazine release being on the trigger guard means it’s easy from either side of the weapon to release. The safety is easy to disengage while at the same time sturdy enough to carry without fear of accidentally disengaging. The trigger is firmer than comparable models. This has one of the easiest slides I have ever experienced.

Do you like the sights on this gun?

The sights are classic and easy to align. Nothing fancy, just good old fashioned items.

How reliable is it?

I have thousands of rounds through this gun and can name a handful of times I’ve had issues. In typical German fashion, this gun is reliable and consistent. I never worry about this gun letting me down.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

Be careful with defense rounds. I have some defense rounds that the gun does not like to feed. (Hornady critical defense) nothing against these bullets, they are great, this gun just doesn’t like them. I’ve used many other brands of regular, hollow point etc and no issues with any other brand.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

Super easy! Make sure you don’t lose the key though! The spring is tricky to put back in, I would recommend help with that, it’s a 3-minute process once you’ve done it once or twice.

Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?

My first few times shooting it, it was a little confusing to get it to fire the first time. This is because the safety is amazing. There is a very specific order when you fire the first round through it. Now that I know that, I love knowing if the gun were ever taken away from me and used against me, someone may not be able to figure it out and give me that extra time.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

Overlook its quirky bits and you will love this gun! It’s unique, fun, easy to use, reliable and comfortable. It’s perfect for the southpaw in your life and a great choice for all levels of gun ownership. This gun will be part of your forever collection.

Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?

Yes
