Are you right or left-handed?
Right Handed
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
The soft recoil was the initial draw. The ability to rack the slide easily was important because I have arthritis in my hands. And it is dead-eye accurate.
Tell us about shooting this gun.
This is the best, overall, 9mm gun I have ever shot. It fits well in my hand and is not heavy, very comfortable.
How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?
Easily manageable soft recoil. This makes setting up for the following shot faster and easier.
How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)
My hand fits this gun like a glove. Safety access is close. It is the least resistant slide to rack and I tried a dozen. The magazine release is in an appropriate position. The trigger pull is long, almost completely out. Once I got used to it, that wasn’t a problem.
Do you like the sights on this gun?
The sights on the gun work just fine, but I changed the front ones out for Tridium.
How reliable is it?
Extremely reliable, when you keep it clean. It will jam if you do not clean it after about 500 rounds.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
Not that I have found.
Was it easy to take down and clean?
The takedown and reassemble was very difficult, tools are required. After practicing a few times it does become easier. If you clean your gun after every range session (which you should) it will be routine. It gets dirty quickly due to the gas assist, this is expected.
Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?
Cleaning it.
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
This Walther CCP is extremely accurate. That is one of the reasons I love shooting it. I know if my spread gets off, it is me and not the gun.
Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?
Yes
