Springfield XD Service Model Usage and Features

Primary Use

Are you right or left-handed?

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

Shoots straight and true.

Tell us about shooting this gun.

XD Service model – huh??? Why would you get this???? When there are sooo many newer models of the XD family – you’re asking yourself? Because I live in California and we can’t get those!! But you know what? It’s a fantastic gun!!! It’s my new favorite- I’m even taking this beauty to Gunsite!! I shoot this sweetie in Action Pistol and he shoot so nice – no recoil and sooo straight- right on target / steel. Love it 😍

How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?

This model has his weight. And because of this – mild recoil.

How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)

Pretty good – I have smaller hands so it’s not like a glove but comfortably manageable. No safety, A bit heavy slide pull but I can do it even though it’s on the left side – No ambidextrous slide release on this model – but we must adapt!!! And for me that’s ok 👍🏻

Do you like the sights on this gun?

Stock sights nothing fancy on the bulldog. But so straight and true.

How reliable is it?

Very – but you should clean the bulldog after every time you use him.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

Nope!!! Manufactured or reloads …

Was it easy to take down and clean?

Surprising easy! Don’t even needs hubby’s help.

Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

It’s nothing fancy- but it’s a bulldog!!!

Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?

Yes, I would – except if you have tiny hands the reach to the trigger might be tough.
