Springfield Armory XD Usage & Features
Are you right handed or left handed?
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
I like the large magazine capacity. When on the range you don’t have to reload as often.
Tell us about shooting this gun:
This is my favorite gun ever and many others (both men and women) carry the Springfield XD in different calibers.
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
The Springfield Armory XD is one of the easiest guns I have ever shot. Its accurate, doesn’t have a huge recoil. There is really only 4 parts (like the Glock)and easy to clean. There is a front and back sight and they are accurate and easy to read. When it is new, its a little tight to rack but loosen ups with use. I just sat and racked it with no bullets to get it to move easier. I love the trigger pull.
How reliable is it?
I have not had ONE jam on this gun since I bought it. I have owned it about 6 years. Its always ready and accurate. I do my very best shooting with it.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
I have used many brand names of ammo and it has never let me down. Shoots anything.
Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:
No specific requirements that I know of.
What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?
Nothing, It’s my “Go-to” baby. Always ready, accurate and a joy to shoot.
Was it easy to take down and clean?
This is as easy as it gets. Four parts, like the Glock. Just follow the instructions.
Would you recommend this gun?
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
Shoot the Springfield Armory XD, try the 4″ barrel. Try different ammo – each gun is different. I have a small hand and it really fits my hand. I have an extended double stack magazine and I love it. The 4″ barrel is more accurate for me, and very little recoil.
Anything else you would like to share about the gun?
I have compared the Springfield Armory XD to many guns and always come back to this one. Many of my friends also own/carry XD’s in different ammo sizes from the 40 and 45 and 9mm, this gun is awesome.
