Smith and Wesson Shield EZ Usage and Features

Primary Use

Concealed Carry

Are you right or left handed?

Right Handed

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

It’s made with those in mind who have limited strength. Therefore, it is much easier to rack. The magazines have a “button” that you use to push down as you insert each bullet. Therefore, I don’t need any help loading and I don’t struggle to rack the slide!

Tell us about shooting this gun.

The first time shooting the EZ at the range, I was impressed. Easy to load, easy to rack, and I put all but 2 shots in the abdomen area. Sights don’t need any adjustment. Oh, the two shots not in the belly were still good. One in the upper chest and one close enough to the face to scare someone to death!!

How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?

The Shield EZ has very manageable recoil. I really didn’t even notice it.

How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)

It fits my hand ok, but I have long fingers. It has a double safety which I like. The safety on the side, but also one that has to be gripped before it will fire. The magazine release is easy and convenient. Trigger pull is good. I can pull, lock, and release the slide better than any other weapon I’ve had.

Do you like the sights on this gun?

Sights were good out of the box. Has a simple way to adjust if necessary.

How reliable is it?

As I stated, my first use was good. Only at the range, and the target out as far as 7 yards, yet I clustered the shots pretty well. I’ve only been able to go the one time, but so far, it’s good.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

Not so far. Again, no chance to do much

Was it easy to take down and clean?

Yes. The Shield EZ was easy to take down and the manual explains it well.

Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?

Not so far

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

Get it. Strength, mobility issues, or not. Obviously, it isn’t just for that.

Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?

Yes, I would definitely recommend. As a matter of fact, my friend bought one for herself!

      Hi Rhonda,
Looks like Flashbang does not make a braw holster for the SW Shield EZ however you could try this holster and wear it under your chest – Underarm Holster (this would create a draw through the top of your shirt). It is technically for under the arm (which may work for you as well) but your can rotate this as wear it under your breasts or even like a belly band.

I love my 380 EZ shield! I totally agree that the recoil is minimal and racking this gun is so much easier than other guns I’ve tried. I have a very petite hand and this gun is very comfortable for me to shoot.
