Sig P365 Usage and Features

Primary Use

Concealed Carry

Are you right or left-handed?

Right Handed

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

I have quite small hands and a touch of arthritis, everything I have read about the p365 said it would be a good fit. After renting one at my local range I agree. I love the way it fits my hand and how easy it is to rack. I have been carrying a 380 for years and I just wanted a little more Firepower.

Tell us about shooting this gun.

Straight Out of the Box, I love the fit and feel. I fired about a hundred rounds with no problems oh, I did use Sig Sauer ammunition. I was extremely surprised that when you eject and replace the magazine you do NOT have to rack the slide to chamber the first round. The sites were right on spot.

How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?

I was surprised at the recoil, that’s the difference between the 380 and the 9 mm. Its nothing that I can’t handle, it’s very manageable, however.

How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)

I have small hands and a touch of arthritis, this egg actually fit my hand better than my Bersa Thunder. There is no safety on this model, and to be real honest I was kind of concerned about that because I do you have grandchildren in and out of the house. However, they have all been through gun safety courses so the concern is minor. The slide pulls easy. The magazine release is flush so it will take a little time to get used to. The trigger pull is smooth but a little heavier than I expected. Again not a big deal

Do you like the sights on this gun?

I love the Sig Sauer sights. They were spot-on right out of the box. Easy to see

How reliable is it?

I had two rounds that didn’t fire, it’s a slide issue. It seemed like the slide didn’t go all the way forward about times. I will be talking with Sig Sauer regarding that. As I said earlier it was spot-on as far as hitting your target.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

With only a hundred rounds through it so far, and all of them Sig Sauer ammunition I can’t really comment on this.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

Takedown and cleaning is easy peasy.

Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?

There’s absolutely nothing I just like about my new Sig. I highly recommend it.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

As with any new weapon I suggest you rent or borrow before you purchase make sure it fits you. Be aware that there is no safety. That may or may not be an issue for you, but something you have to consider. Printing with this is very minimal as I said it’s thinner than my Bersa Thunder.

Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?

I would highly recommend this for personal protection and concealed carry.

I was surprised at the statement that you don’t need to rack the slide after inserting a new mag. My husband, my son in law, my daughter, and I ALL shoot and carry the Sig p365 and we DO have to rack it after inserting a new mag, unless you keep your last round in the chamber.
