Ruger LC9 Usage & Features
Are you right handed or left handed?
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
It is small and a 9mm and was inexpensive. I wanted to be able to conceal it on my person.
Tell us about shooting this gun:
I do not enjoy shooting this gun.
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
I have smallish hands, I like the way the Ruger LC9 fits, but I like it better with the extended magazine(10 rounds). The slide is not difficult for me, but I have noticed some other ladies with the same gun or similar have trouble with it. The trigger is a firm pull which causes me to anticipate the recoil and therefore not be as accurate as I can be. Because of how small this gun is it has a lot of recoil.
How reliable is it?
The Ruger LC9 only jammed on me twice and I have put 2000 rounds through it.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
Not so far.
Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:
What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?
The recoil and the sights. I will have to modify the sights if I choose to keep carrying this gun.
Was it easy to take down and clean?
Moderately easy. I usually have to have my husband help me get it back together.
Would you recommend this gun?
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
SHOOT IT FIRST. And not just once. Put at least 100 rounds through it before you buy it. And try other guns as well. I know it is inexpensive, but save up the extra money for a better gun. I wish I had known more when I purchased it.
