Glock 42 Usage and Features
Are You Right or Left Handed?
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
Ambidextrous mag release. I’m dominant/right-handed but due to an injury, shoot left-handed.
Nice size for EDC.
E-Z as pie to clean
Tell us about shooting this gun.
This make/model beat out 16 others in the range I’d short-listed and shot. At least a dozen others I pulled to try but couldn’t rack the slide, etc.
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
I have very small hands, so I had the grip shaved and stippled to prevent sliding. E-Z to rack the slide. Smooth trigger pull; love accelerated triggering though! Minimal recoil, which is THE main reason I chose this gun. Hand injury caused pain when practicing with other guns, and I needed an EDC I looked forward to practicing with for competent carry.
How reliable is it?
The Glock 42 is extremely reliable. The more I learn about it, the happier I am I got a Glock!
NO jams, except when shooting through a purse in an advanced conceal class.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
Does the gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:
What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

Yes I would recommend the Glock 42.
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
Anything else you would like to share about the gun?
Carried revolvers (S&W 357 and Taurus 38 Spcl) for 2 decades.
SO much easier to carry, conceal, practice with my G42!
Photos: Out of the Box! 1st time at the range after customizing grip. 1st left-handed target practice.
