Glock 43 Usage & Features

Primary Use:

Concealed Carry

Are you right handed or left handed?

Right

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

The Glock 43 is easy to shoot and conceal.  It comes with a flush magazine and an extended grip magazine.  It should be noted that the extended magazine does not up the capacity.  It’s still just 6 rounds.  I like the extended magazine.  It’s comfortable, and I like having a place for my pinky finger to rest.

Tell us about shooting this gun:

The Glock 43 is accurate within 10 yards.  The accuracy seems to drop when at 25 yards, but I can still hit the target.  In all honesty, if I shoot an attacker at 25 yards away, I may have a difficult time proving that it was self-defense.  So, I don’t really see this as much of a downside.  I can only shoot 25-50 rounds through before my trigger finger starts to hurt from the trigger.  I’ve tried different positioning and nothing seems to help.

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

I did not like the sights that came on the Glock 43.  I replaced mine with TruGlo Sights.  The trigger pull is a bit jerky but not too bad.  The recoil isn’t too bad.

How reliable is it?

I’ve had a couple of misfires in the 4 months that I have had the gun.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

None specific.

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

The trigger does hurt my finger after I shoot 25-50 rounds.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

I don’t really like the fact that I have to pull the trigger as part of the disassembly process to clean gun.

Would you recommend this gun?

Yes.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

Even though the gun isn’t perfect, it still makes a great conceal and carry gun. The trigger does make my finger hurt, but again, as a conceal and carry gun, I’m not really planning on shooting THAT many rounds in a high stress situation.
