Smith & Wesson Governor Usage & Features
Are you right handed or left handed?
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
Revolver. High power. Perfectly balanced. Light weight vs 9 mm. Easy action! I don’t have the hand strength any more for a jack back. Lazer sighting.
Tell us about shooting this gun:
Easy aim/fire. Hits what you aim at every time – nothing is going to walk away from this gun. Precision fast fire.
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
Love the feel of this gun, the grip is well formed and easy to get the grim desired first pickup. Thumb cock is nice, not difficult at all – thus my preference for the revolver vs the slide action. Very little recoil. Compare recoil of this gun to the 9 mm should not be a consideration. 9 mm will jerk your arm up – Governor will only bounce a bit.
How reliable is it?

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?
Nothing. It’s a pleasure. I’m in my 70’s.
Was it easy to take down and clean?

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
For pleasure shooting or self defense, you can’t do better. You pay for the privilege but it’s worth it.
