Ruger LCR Usage & Features

Primary Use: Concealed Carry

Are you right handed or left handed? Right

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

I love the size. It fits easily in my waistband.

Tell us about shooting this gun:

It is very loud, especially in an indoor shooting range.

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

The grip is short and might not be comfortable if you have large hands. This piece is very light and has a bit of a kick, but I got used to it after practice at the range. No rack to slide because it is a revolver. The first part of your trigger squeeze moves the barrel and the second part shoots.

How reliable is it? Extremely.

Any problems with any type of ammunition? None. I use mostly full metal jacket due to range restrictions and hollow points for concealing.

Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:None.

Was it easy to take down and clean? Very easy. Nothing is disassembled.

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything? If you hold the grip too high the internal hammer will hurt your hand after awhile.

Would you recommend this gun? Yes

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

It doesn’t have a safety so your holster is your safety. Or a gun safe.

Anything else you would like to share about the gun?

I have a plate and 6 screws in my wrist after shattering it in an accident 2 years ago so finding the right concealed carry weapon that I had perfect control over was critical for me. I am a single mom and I wanted real protection in a compact package that I knew I had absolute control over. This gun is perfect for me and I am thankful I found it.

I find my Ruger LCR 22 caliber gun perfect for me. As I have very weak wrist and all I have to do is pull the trigger. No chambering bullets from a magazine on top of a gun
I tried many handguns at a shooting range that offered a large table of handguns to try to see which one fit me the best. I also got to shoot every gun that I wanted to.
