Are You Right or Left Handed?  Right

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

This was my first gun that I bought. I tried my dad’s exact model only once and decided this was a good home defense weapon. I like that it will also take .38 special and .38 special +P ammo to lighten the “kick”.

This revolver is also single OR double action.

Tell us about shooting this gun.

The reason I liked this gun so much is because when using 38 special ammo, it kicks less than my dad’s Smith and Wesson .40 Be sure to use the pad of your finger when pulling the trigger or your aim will be off.

Please share: How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

I have small hands and it fits quite nicely. It is definitely heavier than a polycarbonate gun, but I would imagine being made of a heavier material it allows for it to have less recoil.

No slide to rack as it’s a revolver. I have yet to try speed loaders.

When used as single action, the trigger pull is quite light and therefore this is how I use the gun when shooting. When using double action, the trigger pull is very heavy and I find it very difficult to shoot. I would think, however, that when placed in a stressful situation with adrenaline pumping, pulling the trigger as double action will likely be much easier.

I find that when using .38 special ammo, the recoil is reduced dramatically compared to .357 Personally, I find it to also be less than the .40 Smith and Wesson that I have tried.

How reliable is it?

I have never had any issues with it so far. From what I understand, there isn’t much to go wrong with a revolver.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

None that I have found so far.

Does the gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:

Nope

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

Nothing

Was it easy to take down and clean? Please share.

Very easy to clean since it is a revolver and there’s nothing to take apart

Would you recommend this gun?

Yes

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

It is difficult to conceal for us girls. I tried it once and it was very uncomfortable as well as heavy on my waistband. I do however keep it in the car and have carried it in its holster in my purse. So, I’d have to say that this isn’t the best CCW, but appears to be a great home self-defense weapon.

Also, being a female, the reduced trigger pull when using it single action and reduced recoil when using 38 special ammo makes it easier and more comfortable to use, however I like that I can eventually practice with the .357 ammo to get comfortable with that.
