Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 Usage & Features

Primary Use: Concealed Carry

Are you right handed or left handed? Right

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

In addition to the typical “safety” there is also a turn-key security system which prevents accidental chambering or firing. There is also a loaded chamber indicator when a round is engaged for added peace of mind.

Tell us about shooting this gun:

The Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 is very easy to shoot. I feel quite comfortable with it. It fits well in my hands and I feel like my control over the gun is good even when using home defense rounds with a stronger kick. I’ve had no issues with jamming even with cheaper ammo.

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

The gun is very well balanced. Its not so heavy that it might cause me fatigue thus a less than optimal aim but its not so light that it feels cheap or like a toy either. I was drawn to the gun due to having smaller hands and feeling like I could get my hands comfortably around the grip without it being too bulky nor so small that control would be an issue. Racking the slide is also perfectly controllable and the trigger has just enough tension that its not too hard nor does it feel like it would be easy to unintentionally fire it.

How reliable is it? Absolutely no jamming even with cheap ammo. Good weight, balance and triggering adds to accuracy even single handed.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

None.

Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:No.

Was it easy to take down and clean? Very easy to take down and clean, even for someone that hasn’t done it a lot.

Would you recommend this gun? Yes

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

I would say that any gun is a very personal choice depending on needs and usage and comfort and they should really try out several hand guns before settling on one. I would highly recommend they give this Taurus Millennium a try as every person that I have shown this gun to has been impressed with it in every way.

Anything else you would like to share about the gun?

I have a plate and 6 screws in my wrist after shattering it in an accident 2 years ago so finding the right concealed carry weapon that I had perfect control over was critical for me. I am a single mom and I wanted real protection in a compact package that I knew I had absolute control over. This gun is perfect for me and I am thankful I found it.

I’m a left-handed shooter and I can say it’s easy to shoot. And the guy at point blank range told me that it’s basically a cheaper Glock. The mag release can be swapped for left-handed shooters. I did it but it took a little effort and it would you best served if you payed expert to swap it if you don’t know what you’re doing. But overall it has very little recoil very easy to put on target, very easy trigger pull and very accurate for a gun it’s size.

I’m a new gun owner, I just bought my first gun 3 days ago. I decided on the G2c is that the same gun as yours, similar, or not at all. My knowledge on different gun brands and types is very minimal. I haven’t had a chance to go to the range yet. Any information you might be able to provide will be much appreciated.

The PT-111, G2C, and G3C are all the same gun. The G2C eliminated an external “striker block/lock” that acted in place of a trigger lock. The G3C changed from adjustable “Taurus only” sights to Fixed Glock Sights, giving more options to for those that want to change their sight. By now you have probably gone to the range and most like have figured out the the G2C is one of the most reliable “budget-minded” guns out there. For those that want a thinner grip, the G2S is a great alternative.

I’m about to purchase my first gun and I have been leaning towards this one. Your review helped me make my decision. I feel the same way about this firearm. Especially since your opinion came from another woman who also uses it for self defense. Thank you.
