Tell us about shooting this gun:

Reliable gun. Have fired hundreds of rounds with multiple types and brands of ammo and never any failures (ie: jambs, misfires, failure to feed, etc). Light trigger pull. Minor recoil. Shoots as good as it looks.

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

First time I held the Sig Sauer 1911 in my hand was like putting on a pair of designer gloves – a perfect fit. Sights are easy to see both day and night. The night sights are subtle but easy to see. Keeping the gun clean and lubed makes racking the slide easy and smooth. Trigger pull very light. Firm grip when firing and you’ll hardly feel the recoil.

How reliable is it?

Reliability is spot on. Never a problem no matter if it’s shooting with round nose ammo or hollow point defense rounds.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

No matter if it’s round nose or hollow point or any brand/manufacturer of ammo, it all fires flawlessly through the Sig Sauer 1911.

Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:

No specific ammo requirements.

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

There is NOTHING to dislike about this gun.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

So easy to take apart. Once proficient, it can be disassembled in 3 seconds and reassembled in about 10 seconds.

Would you recommend this gun?

Yes.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

If you can try it before you buy it, great. My husband bought this for me as a present for getting my CHL. The second it was in my hand I knew it was perfect. You won’t be disappointed with this little beauty.

Anything else you would like to share about the gun?

Don’t let someone tell you that you can’t handle it because it’s a 45. The Sig Sauer 1911 is lighter and more accurate than some 9 mm’s I’ve shot and the recoil and trigger pull are also the same as a couple of 9 mm’s.
