Ruger LCR .38 Special +P Usage & Features

Primary Use:

Concealed Carry

Are you right handed or left handed?

Right

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

Revolver, Crimson, Trace Laser, Sleak, good looking, very compact, concealed hammer.

Tell us about shooting this gun:

I haven’t practiced with it as much as I should. Had wrist surgery which set me back for a while on shooting. But when I first received it I shot a few times with it and loved it.

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

Has a great feel in my hands. Bit more recoil than my semi auto which was a .32, but that was to be expected.

How reliable is it?

The reason I went with this revolver is because my semi auto jammed one day. I had 2 semi autos but the one that jammed was harder to rack the slide. My hand strength isn’t what it used to be. It concerned me that I couldn’t rack it. So I decided to switch over to a revolver so I wouldn’t have to worry about jamming or racking.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

No.

Does this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:

No.

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

Don’t know if I would say that I dislike this, but it is rather loud, which is probably a good thing.

Would you recommend this gun?

Yes.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

Great reliable small compact gun. I love it. Expensive with the Crimson Trace Laser, but that was one of the main selling features for me.

Anything else you would like to share about the gun?

Highly recommend it for those who are switching back to revolvers because of loss of hand strength as I did. Still have my other semi auto which is much easier to rack, but I’m carrying this .38 daily. My other semi auto is a .32.

Great little gun! But maybe two of these light weight guns may serve you better. One each front pocket. In case right arm is injured or able draw and shoot gun, maybe left pocket and handgun can help. Besides we must always have spare ammunition and what better place to keep it than in a spare gun in your other pocket !!!God Bless!!!

I love this gun , the only drawback for me is the limited rounds . Nice in the hand , compact, powerful, the recoil was expected with the 38 caliber . Would recommend for the experienced shooter . Not recommended for the average beginner .
