Kimber Sapphire Ultra Carry Usage & Features

Tell us about shooting this gun:

Sights were slightly off but that was quickly remedied at my local gunsmith. While many people to use this as their carry gun, I found it to be a tad bit too heavy for carrying for my size and frame.

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

Grip was a perfect size for my small hands allowing me to have a firm grip when shooting.

How reliable is it?

After trying it out with 115 grains ammo, the gun jammed a couple of times. We learned that by using 124 or 147 grains, this will not happen. It did jam once with the 124 grain but seems to be OK now. This gun is finicky with the ammo but was very nice gun to shoot. Getting the gun brand new, I had to put 200+ rounds through it to break it in; however, the spring that is in the slide makes it extremely difficult to rack. I would recommend replacing the spring and I do plan on doing this in the very near future.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

When cleaning, it is difficult to take apart and put back together. You need special tool due to the difficult spring.

Anything else you would like to share about the gun?

This gun was on my wish list and never thought in my wildest dreams it would be a gift to celebrate my turning 50 years old. Overall, a collector gun to commemorate my 50th birthday, I will treasure it and continue shooting it.
