Right

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

I tried a number of similarly sized 9mm semi-automatics at my local range before buying the P-10 C. The other two I really liked were the Glock G19 and the H&K VP 9 SK. All 3 were easy to shoot, had manageable recoil, and were fairly accurate. I chose the CZ because the grip was by far the most comfortable. I picked it up and it felt custom molded to my hand. It comes with 3 different back straps to fit different hand sizes – the stock gun had the small installed and it was perfect for my average size hands. (I wear a size M, size 8 glove.). I like the aggressive texture of the frame and the magazine capacity. The front sight is easy to find and focus on, and the trigger is well positioned for a smooth and consistent press. This model has a rail – since my intended purpose is home defense, I needed someplace to attach a flashlight.

Tell us about shooting this gun.

This gun is fun to shoot. It is comfortable in the hand and the 3 dot sights are clear and easy to see. I’ve run just under 2000 rounds of aluminum and brass case range ammo, 115 gr and 124 gr, multiple brands, even mixing types and weights in the same magazine as a test and had only one malfunction, which was likely caused by bad form on my part (end of range session and I was getting tired – limp wristed a few shots). Have test shot a few different brands and weights of personal defense ammo (HST, Gold Dot, 124 and 150 gr), 20 rounds each, and had no problems.

Recoil is manageable – the beaver tail of the grip makes it easy to maintain a solid grip and bring the muzzle back down and on target.

How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

Out of the box everything except the trigger is really stiff – racking the slide, loading the magazines to full capacity, slide release, and mag release all require some break-in time. The range gun was smooth as butter after god knows how many rounds through it. 2000 or so rounds through the new gun and mine has shown significant improvement as the controls break in. BUT, if you have weak hands you will either want to work on improving your hand strength or get something else. My mom has arthritis and cannot operate the controls on this one. The grip fit is amazing and the more I handle this gun – regular dry fire practice plus range time – the more it feels like it was custom made for my hand. LOVE the grip on this one! The trigger is fairly light and smooth although the length of pull before it breaks takes some getting used to. The reset is fairly short though, and overall I like the trigger.

Do you like the sights on this gun?

Yes. Easy to see and easy to align.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

Super easy to take down and clean! Drop the mag, clear the chamber, pull the trigger (Pointing in a safe direction!), pull the slide back slightly and push the slide releases to remove the slide. Pop out the spring and the barrel.

Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?

The aggressive texture of the frame takes some getting used to. Don’t get me wrong – in my book the texture is a pro since I assume my hands will be sweaty and slippery in a personal defense situation. But it does leave some marks after long range sessions and some people may decide to sand it down or cover it over with something else.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

If you like the G 19, you will find that this gun shoots very similarly. It may work for some as a concealed carry option, particularly in the winter, but I find it a little big for every day carry.

Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?

I really like this gun. It is comfortable and easy to shoot, and I like having the 15+1 capacity for home defense. It comes with 2 magazines so capacity is hopefully more than sufficient overall.
