Springfield Hellcat Usage and Features

Primary Use

Concealed Carry

Are you right or left handed?

Right-Handed

What features does this gun have that appeal to you?

Small size, nice grip and ammo capacity

Tell us about shooting this gun.

It shoots really nice for a small gun. Recoil is minimal. It’s accurate and fun to shoot. Over 1000 rounds and I’ve never had a misfire. I enjoy shooting this gun, it’s kind of like a sports car, small and quick.

How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?

Recoil is minimal, very manageable

How does it fit your hand, are the controls easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)

I have a large palm and short fingers, it fits my hand great especially with the 15 round magazine. Controls are within reach. The slide is easy to rack but I have strong hands so I don’t have that problem. Magazine and slide releases are right there and really easy to use. The trigger is much more comfortable than any of the Glocks I have. (The only triggers I like better are my 1911’s which are a dream)

Do you like the sights?

I really do! I bought the Hex Wasp red dot and I didn’t care for it at all, so I removed it.

How reliable is it?

No misfires ever.

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

None. It is very happy with everything I’ve used. Even some old plinking ammo I had and wanted to get rid of so I used it!

Was it easy to take down and clean?

This is really easy to breakdown. Similar to a Glock, pretty close anyway.

Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?

Nothing to dislike. I will say I like shooting it better with the extended grip of the 15 round magazine but it’s fine with the 11 round standard mag.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

I always recommend trying a gun before you purchase but I personally am super happy with this gun. It’s fun to shoot.

Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?

I do recommend the Hellcat. Especially for a concealed carry gun. But it’s a fun range gun too.
