Concealed carry can be very intimidating and we may feel we have a lot of issues or obstacles to master. I think one of the reasons for this is that there really is no “one way” to do it. Each of us is so unique. Our bodies, emotions, mindsets, and clothing are unique to us. Therefore, our solutions to different challenges may differ. But, there are some areas that we as women will all likely have to deal with as concealed carriers.

Over the years, I have written about many concealed carry questions and challenges that come up. Of course, there will always be more, and please share your concealed carry obstacles in the comment section below so we can expand our content!

Holsters

One of the most important aspects of concealed carrying is your draw. The ability to draw your gun quickly, safely, and effectively from your holster should you need to use your gun to save your life is paramount. Without this skill, so many things could go wrong including hurting yourself or others.

I broke down the steps of how to safely and properly draw from a holster when carrying concealed in my 5 part series “Drawing From Concealment”. In each article, I give practice tips on how to master each skill.

Holster “cant” is another area of confusion for many women. Understanding the cant of a holster is important as it can affect the effectiveness of your concealment and your ability to draw your gun. In my article Holster Cant Simplified,  I discuss what it is and why it matters.

    Was wondering how to conceal carry while backpacking?

      Great question Cathy, IWB works well. If it is a larger gun that gets in the way when hiking uphill or climbing, you could rotate it more to the hip or just off the back of the hip. I believe there are also pouches with holsters that you can buy that clip onto the strap of your backpack.
