Springfield Armory XD Subcompact Usage and Features

Primary Use

Concealed Carry

Are you right or left handed?

Left Handed

What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

Like my service model – this gun is accurate and very adaptable for a left hand shooter.

Tell us about shooting this gun.

As a Left handed girl, I have to find firearms that are either ambidextrous with both the slide release and magazine release – or a combination of both. This one allows me to add an extended slide release and it has ambi mag release. And by far is my favorite.

How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?

The weight helps control the recoil. I really like this pistol. Very easy for me to control.

How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)

It fits like a glove. Very secure. Easy to reach slide lock, ambi mag release, I like the factory trigger a lot. Palm safety. Very nice gun.

Do you like the sights on this gun?

Yes – factory sights nothing special.

How reliable is it?

A total workhorse. Shoots all day long

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

None…. It takes reloads, it takes factory ammunition.

Was it easy to take down and clean?

Yes. Easy-peasie

Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?

Most small frame women will not like the weight of the fully loaded firearm to carry.
I learned to adapt. It’s a good solid firearm.

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

Try it – you will like it. This firearm holds 10 rounds whether you like the short magazine that sits flush with the butt of the firearm- or the extended mag that if you have man hands and need more grip! ( Sorry I live in California- 10 rounds max) it may hold more if you live in a free state.

Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?

Absolutely I would recommend this firearm.
