What features does this gun have that appealed to you?

Small, lightweight, fits my hand perfectly, easy trigger pull.

Tell us about shooting this gun.

LOVE LOVE shooting this Glock 42 !! I could shoot 1000 rounds through it and it doesn’t hurt my hand at all.  Very accurate.  Easy to find sights. Just fits me perfectly!

Please share: How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?

Feels like it was custom made for my hand.  Small grip, but not as small as some other 380s which fits my medium sized hand perfectly.  Racking the slide is very easy, especially with a little practice.  Trigger pull is great! Not too long, but not too short.  I am not a huge fan of the long trigger pull, but also like to know that just barely touching the trigger won’t make the gun fire either.  Best of both.  Recoil is minimal.  With self-defense ammo, I feel the recoil a little more than with the 95-grain target ammo, but both are manageable.

How reliable is it?

With good ammo, I have had no malfunctions with the Glock 42.  When I first purchased the gun, it was used, but had very little wear on it.  I used some reloads from a store and it didn’t like that ammo.  I got several stove pipes and double feeds.  But with Winchester 95 grain or blazer brass 95 grain, and Hornady Critical defense no issues at all!

Any problems with any type of ammunition?

Does not like reloads or very cheap ammo.  With good ammo, the gun works flawlessly.

Does the gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:

.380 good name brand ammo.  NO reloads!

What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?

Nothing!  Wish it had a larger capacity

Was it easy to take down and clean? Please share.

The Glock 42 is the easiest semi-automatic to take apart.

Would you recommend this gun?

Yes

For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?

Great gun!  Practice and make sure it is what you want.  Use good ammo to test its reliability.

Anything else you would like to share about the gun?

Before you buy any gun, test them out!  Make sure it fits your hand and you are comfortable with the gun.  Glocks have no external safety other than trigger safety, so make sure you have great trigger control when using a Glock.
