I inherited this gun, and it’s absolutely beautiful with cocobolo grips…
Tell us about shooting this gun.
I picked up this gun for the first time, casually aimed it at the target…and was shocked to get my first bullseye, lol. I used to hear people say this or that gun was so accurate, and I would think in my head, “isn’t that up to the shooter?” Well, I know now that there IS a difference…and whatever that difference is, this gun has it. I shoot better with it than any other gun I own, and there are a few! My only problem with it is it’s somewhat more complicated to break down, and I found it heavy to carry on my belt, so it’s relegated to home defense. However, I just ordered a new holster, so, we will see! I love this gun (-:
How would you describe the recoil, is it manageable?
Extremely manageable! The gun is all metal.
How does it fit your hand, are the controls of this gun easy to use? (Safeties, slide pull, magazine release, trigger pull, etc.)
This gun fits right into my hand like it was made for me…slide is nice, safety is very positive…everything rocks on it(-:
Do you like the sights on this gun?
Yes, good night sights.
How reliable is it?
Uber-reliable! Has shot every type of ammo I’ve put in!
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
None yet….
Was it easy to take down and clean?
Not at first! But I got the plastic tool and watched YouTube videos…
Is there anything you dislike about shooting this gun?
No, though maybe is a tad heavy when fully loaded. I am kind of small…
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
Love it, get a supportive belt/holster that distributes weight.
Would you recommend this gun? If no, do you have a preferred gun?
Yes I would! And I bought a Browning 380 in .380 they look like twins, lol
Karen – you must be my soul sister! My husband & I lucked up on & purchased a hardly-used EMP with a 4 in. barrel. I’d been searching for just the right 9mm for me. And the EMP is “IT”. I haven’t mastered field stripping it yet. I just need more practice. Not only do I agree with everything you said about the EMP, but also the gun that is my preferred is my Browning 380. Thank you for bringing these 2 guns to light.
