What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
It’s a good solid gun that’s very concealable.
Tell us about shooting this gun.
Compared to the full-size M&P 9mm, it’s about the same. Of course, it’s a bit snappier, but still very manageable. But the Performance Center also has a ported barrel, which helps with muzzle flip. I haven’t noticed any problems with accuracy from the short barrel.
Please share: How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
It fits in my hand pretty nicely, especially if I have the 8-round mag in it. The slide is tricky, but it’s improving. The trigger is much better than the full size. I really like it. Recoil is pretty much what you’d expect.
How reliable is it?
I haven’t shot this particular gun enough to know for sure, but in my experience M&Ps are reliable.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
Nope.
Does the gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:
No.
Was it easy to take down and clean? Please share.
Yes! Once you get the slide back the whole thing is easy. And it doesn’t take forever to clean like 1911s.
Would you recommend this gun?
Yes
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
Don’t be surprised when if you have trouble racking the slide. It’ll get better. Also, if you’re at a gun store, make sure the mag is in before you decided if it fit your hand. It’s an awesome gun! You can’t go wrong with this.
Anything else you would like to share about the gun?
When you’re putting the mag in, be careful not to catch your hand in between the grip and the mag. It really hurts! Just hold your pinky / ring finger out a bit. Also, you can get a baseplate from NeoMag if you want larger capacity.
