Tell us about shooting this gun.
The frame of the gun is aluminum and weighs in at 27.5 oz. This weight is what makes this gun such a pleasure to shoot. Recoil is manageable and I am able to “stay” on target. Gun is very accurate.
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
The gun has rubber grips that are comfortable to hold. They are also replaceable with after market grips. I find the original grips very comfortable and aids in keeping a firm grip. I’ve got medium sized hands for a woman and the gun fits me fine. It has a double stack magazine, so when holding the gun, you realize it’s there. I find it easier to hold than the very thinned single stacks. Just a preference. When new, the rack was stiff but was easier to rack after about 1,000 rounds or so down range.
This is a DA/SA trigger. SA is smooth and I have no problem concealing this with and IWB or good pancake OWB holster.
How reliable is it?
I bet my life on this gun every day.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
I buy what’s on sale online for range practice and the CZ eats everything I’ve fed it.
Does the gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain:
No
What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?
I have “old eyes” and the original sights were hard for me to pick up. Some tritium sights changed that. Younger eyes probably wouldn’t have the problem.
Was it easy to take down and clean?
Very easy to take down and clean. Takes down like a 1911.
Would you recommend this gun?
Yes
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
For reliability and accuracy, you can’t go wrong. I suggest trying to find one locally to try on for size if that’s possible. The double stack might make it difficult for small hands.
