Left
What features does this gun have that appealed to you?
This Taurus PT22 is very small and lightweight, easy to shoot, and has very little to no recoil.
Tell us about shooting this gun:
This gun is great for teaching people the basics without worry about recoil. It does have a bit of a heavy trigger, which can be difficult to get used to. The long trigger works well to show how the muzzle moves as one pulls.
How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil?
Because it is a tiny gun, it does not fit well in most hands. The slide isn’t meant to be racked, as the barrel tips up to load/unload the first, chambered round. With the small caliber and little recoil, it worked well as a starter pistol for me.
How reliable is it?
The only issue I have had with this gun is that the trigger spring got jammed up after many, many rounds. Taurus fixed that and it has been good since.
Any problems with any type of ammunition?
I haven’t had any issues with any of the .22LR rounds I have shot.
What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything?
The trigger can be a bit long/heavy for new shooters and the gun is very, very tiny.
Was it easy to take down and clean?
I found this gun easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble.
Would you recommend this gun?
Yes.
For someone considering this gun, what would you tell them?
For a fun target gun, it works well. But I wouldn’t use it all the time.
